Lauren's New Painting!

I've had these canvas' sitting here for over 2 years.. Calling me everytime I come into my craft room..Just kept staring at them not knowing what to put on them. Well, this week I got inspired  from a sketch I did for my greeting card line..And since my youngest wants her room redone.. We started with her :)

I think it turned out pretty cute!! She is tinkled pink and that's all that counts :) Now, off to the next project for her room....

Boring Tank Gets Revamped!!

Bought this little tank at the dollar store awhile back.. And it sat in my craft room...waiting..waiting.. and yet again WAITING!! My main idea for the tank was to paint my little bear on it.. Then I thought again as I was doing my Maddie-Pattie Beary Bags... Hum....those flowers would look really cute on the tank too..

So, this is what I did.. Made 3 flowers out of fabric that gets rolled up..Used fabric glue and some stitching and Lookie!!!!

My Little one loved it..and I was a happy gal too!! And all I paid was $1.00..Now, my two oldest want me to revamp some of their old tanks!!

HUG!!!!

LOVE... Shel Silverstein and when I was drawing all I could think in my head was his poem..
HUG A WAR!!

I will not play at tug o'war.
I'd rather play at hug o'war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.

NEW BIRTHDAY CARD LINE IN PROGRESS......

It's the oddest places where an Idea will strike with me.. That's why I always have a sketch book either in my purse or in the car. Was at the dealership waiting on an oil change for my car.. When I thought.. I haven't done any new designs for a Birthday Line.. Well, put my pencil to paper and off I went..Right, next to me was my youngest sketching away on a "Bunny with Carrots" and then I look over to see her sketching "Bathing Suit Designs"..LOL Her mind is constantly going..she amazes me each and everyday ..The sketch below is one of hers.. She just came in the office and sat down and drew a Rooster or a Chicken as she calls it..(I know she's my daughter but for 7yrs I was impressed!!)
All 3 of my girls have artistic talent.. But, all in 3 different directions. My oldest Maddie has in artistic eye when it comes to photograpy.. My second oldest Morgie.. loves fashion..so her artistic avenue goes in that direction...It's amazing to see all 3 of them in action :)

Gotta a little sidetracked didn't I ???!! Sorry, just a bit proud of my girlies!!! I did get though a few sketches at the dealership done. And I know I'll be changing them along the way.. But, here is a preview of one..What do you think?

Kutztown Festival

Wednesday we headed to Kutztown for their annual Festival.. Lots of neat crafters making their wares, animals and  food  did I mention FOOD!! This is Berks County here.. We know how to eat :) It was a hot day but the kids and my parents had a great time.. Sampled handmade Jellies, dips and even some local wine.

My oldest Daughter Maddie took my camera and off she went.. She's my "Roaming Photographer" as I call her. (Great-Grandma Mary would have been so proud).

One stand especially kept my kiddos attention.. Me I've grown up with alot of this.. I still remember seeing a Cow's Tongue in my grandparent's fridge on day.. My grandpa used to love them sliced and made into sandwiches..Mind you I'd quickly shut the fridge door and pretend I didn't see it.. YUCK!! I did want to though take a pic of something I didn't see before.. "Pickled Pig's Snout!" But, instead took the pic of "Pickled Pigs Feet" But, if you look closely to your left you will see some snouts..They had pickled everything, lamb's tongues, guinea gizzards, etc.. Unreal..
I also, did take a pic of an adorable little Amish boy.. Love his blue eyes!! The kiddos kept telling me to put my camera down but I couldn't resist..

Next, was pics taken my by oldest mentioned above.. she loves animals.. So, off we went to the Children's petting zoo..

Morgie feeding the Baby Goats..
Doesn't this Bunny look like an Easter Card?! Adorable!!

Decorating...

I love the beach..to me a it's getting out of Dodge and going to another world.. To sit at the beach with your eyes closed..breeze blowing thur your hair, listening to waves crashing to the shore..kids laughing and sea gulls singing away.. It's peaceful place indeed :)

I decided our bedroom and bathroom needed an update.. We colored it a calm, peaceful, happy beachy blue. The work in the bathroom is still a work in progress..new tiles for the floor etc..So, instead I decorated..( alittle impatient..LOL.. this is where I become one of the kids.. lol) Mind you the only thing I needed to purchase was the 2 frames which I found at the Dollar Store and I did enlarge photos that my daughter took. Otherwise, I had everything else on hand..I'm a big shell nut..So, each year the kiddos and I go on excursions at the beach and find lots of neat and interesting shells :)

The saying I found while blogging.. ( "If you want to know how much i love you count the waves")I can't remember where I found it.. If I come across it again I will let you know.. All, I did there was paint the saying on an old frame. The 2 dollar store frames I repainted and put in 2 Scallops shells that were a found on one of our excursions.

The budding photographer in our family (Ms. Maddie).. snapped these photos..her Great Grandma Mary would be so happy to see someone following in her footstep :)

In our bedroom I put up an old shelf and painted it and gave it a new life..Then took photos of the girls at the beach a few years back and framed them..And continued to decorate with all the fancy shells we collected over the years.

So, that's it for now.. Lots more to do and lots more open spaces on the walls to fill with great beachy goodies. I'll keep you updated as the progress continues :)

Blueberry Lemonade

Nothing says Summer like a  "Yum-O"..icy glass of  Blueberry Lemonade :)

Blueberries.....

Yesterday, Blueberries were open for the pickin'!! So, today my parents braved it and took my 2 daughter's along blueberry pickin'. Lauren the 7yr old loved it!! Wondering how many made it to her tummy compared to the her bucket :) My oldest who is 14yr..loved it also until her fingers started cramping....But, all in all they picked 28lbs of blueberries!! So, all I can think of now it Violet from Willie Wonka.. We will all soon be turning blue and looking like blueberries..LOL

Next, is what to do with our stash.. going to freeze some I know that for sure..I'm thinking muffins, pancakes, blueberry lemonade, etc..the list in my head goes on and on..

Spring Blossoms

Just some of the beautiful blossoms we had blooming this spring.. They looked lovely.. The peonies which are my favorite just added that special something to the yard this year.. Especially, too since they came from my grandmother's garden :)  And the iris was a bonus.. My father each year comes to the house and starts plantings blubs in secret.. We never know when or where or what he's planting till the next year..

Here's Tucker!!

This is Tucker.. our 2 yr. old Golden Retriever..Who thinks he's a lap dog weighing in at 75lbs.. He loves to cuddle with blankets and pillows as you can see.. Any blankets that are on the ground he thinks are fair game.. Last night my youngest brought her pillow down and sleeping bag and was chillin in the living room.. She leaves for a few minutes and guess who moves in..LOL

This photo was actually taken by my 7yr old.. I think she did a great job :)

Maddie's Pics

We had another snow storm blow thru here again last night and then turn into freezing rain this morning.. So, the kiddos were off today.. Made some Rice Krispie Treats.. So, they were some happy campers :)

My oldest Maddie loves photographer.. I gene I believe she has picked up from her Great Grandma Mary.. Oh how happy she would be to see what she has been doing.. This morning I told her take my Camera and take some pics outside.. it looked so neat with all the ice hanging off the trees.. I think the photos she took were pretty cool...

These remind me of little red hearts hanging from the branches....
